Dealers in Antique - Modern and Contemporary Art
David Macbeth Sutherland
Coulour. Without it, we'd be nothing; the pigments, chemicals and tools we use are of the highest quality available. We use them in conservation for oil paintings, acrylics and occasionally to add a bit of bold-ness to our framing.
Restoration comes in many different shapes and sizes. With this piece, paper was removed from an antique canvas using precision scalpals.
The three types of glass we offer differ from ordinary, which will protect the artwork from small knocks or scrapes to Ultraviolet Light protection, blocking out 99% of UV light, allowing the artists colour to remain untainted, natural and original, to our most popular and favourite type; ArtGlass, which blocks out 70% of UV light, allowing the painting to carry on in it's life untainted, and also has a non-reflective coating embedded in the glass, which gives the artwork superior clarity.
